Dinosaur Jr. hit their heyday in the late 1980s and early '90s when their albums Bug (featuring the grunge classic “Freak Scene”) and You’re Living All Over Me resonated with the burgeoning alternative rock scene. Bassist Lou Barlow split the group in 1989, right before the band achieved mainstream success with songs like "Start Choppin" and "Out There." Then, in 2007, the original trio made up, re-grouped and picked up right where they left off, creating heavily distorted rock that moves from quiet to deafening in a quick chord progression. In short, if you loved them then, you will love their jangly, fuzzy rock now. If you didn’t like them then...well, it never hurts to give another listen.
